Accessing and Sending from a Delegate Mailbox

If you have been granted Delegate Access to a user's mailbox, you now have access to manage their e-mail from your own account using Outlook.

Mailboxes to which you have delegate access can be accessed from the Outlook app or Outlook on the web.

Accessing a Delegated Mailbox from Outlook

When a mailbox is delegated to you, it should automatically be added to your Outlook Desktop application. If you do not see it listed, try closing and re-opening Outlook.

You should see all mailboxes to which you have access listed in the sidebar. This is convenient because it allows you to seamlessly access delegated resources alongside your own.

Sending from a Delegated Mailbox in Outlook

If you would like to send mail as a delegated user in Outlook, you may need to change the "From" address on your messages. To do this, you will need to enable the "From" field in the email composer.

1. Compose a new message
2. Choose "Options" from the ribbon at the top

4. Under "Show Fields" ensure that the from

5. Choose the "From" dropdown and choose the address you want to send from or choose "Other Email Address..."

Accessing and Sending From a Delegated Mailbox from Outlook on the Web

You can also access mailboxes to which you have delegate access from Outlook on the Web. To get started, sign in at https://outlook.com.

1. Choose your profile image or initials from the upper right hand corner of the page
2. Choose "Open another mailbox" from the dropdown

3. Enter the email address of the user or shared mailbox that you need to access

4. Click Open
5. You now have access to send and receive email as the delegated user in Outlook on the web.
