Saving a Message to report as Spam

When reporting a potentially malicious e-mail, it is helpful to have a copy of the original message to investigate the source and take any necessary action. To do this, you will need to save a copy of the message

Exporting a message in Microsoft Outlook (Windows)

  1. Highlight the message which you wish to export in your Inbox

  1. Click "File" in the upper left hand corner of the screen

  1. Choose "Save As" from the left-hand menu bar

  1. Name the message to submit and click "Save"

  1. Attach the saved message to your e-mail when reporting a malicious message
  2. Be sure to delete the saved file once you have sent your report

Exporting a message in Outlook Web App

  1. Highlight the message you wish to export in your inbox

  1. Click on the "three-dot" menu in the upper right hand corner of the message

  1. Choose the "Save" option

  1. Drag and drop the downloaded message file into your e-mail when reporting a suspicious message

  1. Be sure to delete the downloaded file once you have sent your report
