Using an alternative means of authentication for Security Key users

If you’ve added a security key to your account, it will be treated as your primary means of authentication. If you’ve lost your security key or do not have it on hand, you can still use your phone or other existing factor to get access to your account! To do so:

  1. Visit the Microsoft 365 sign-in page

  2. Enter your email address provided by your organization and choose Next

  1. Enter the password for your account and choose Sign In

  1. When prompted by your browser, select Cancel at the security key prompt

  1. Choose Other ways to sign in

  1. Choose one of your other registered means of authentication from the list and proceed as you normally would
